What is “Net-Zero 2050”?
The federal “Net-Zero 2050” objective aims to achieve carbon neutrality by drastically reducing greenhouse gas emissions and offsetting residual emissions with natural or technological solutions capable of absorbing CO₂.

What can Greenbergen do for a municipality, for example?

STEP 1

We analyse the electricity consumption of public buildings, heating needs, wastewater flow rates, and mobility flows in order to identify losses, peaks, and the potential for local recovery.

STEP 2

Based on these data, we model several scenarios. Each one will be assessed through a CO₂ balance, a simplified Life Cycle Assessment, and a techno-economic analysis to define a realistic net-zero pathway for the municipality.

STEP 3

During deployment, we install sensors, multi-flow monitoring, and dashboards to continuously track energy, costs, and emissions.

RESULT

The final system enables the municipality to reduce consumption, stabilise spending, leverage local resources, and make tangible progress towards net-zero.

European project MountRésilience — State of Valais

Solutions for Resilient Communities in European Mountain Areas

MountRésilience is a European project that helps mountain regions better adapt to the impacts of climate change.
The demonstrator deployed in Valais focuses on water management and mountain irrigation, using sensors that take real-time measurements to support farmers and communities in decision-making.
In this context, Greenbergen coordinates, for the State of Valais, the organisation of the European event scheduled for 2026, which will bring together all partners around the Valais demonstrator.
The project is coordinated by ECAL+Lab and brings together several partners: the State of Valais, the Foundation for the Sustainable Development of Mountain Regions (FDDM), BlueArk, EPFL RiverLab, as well as Apptitude for the interface.

Denodl – Tech for easier life

Smart sensors for monitored water management in the mountains

Denodl is a connected sensor technology designed to monitor water continuously. They measure parameters such as water level, flow rate, and temperature, as well as, depending on the site, humidity, pressure, and precipitation.
Data are sent in real time to a centralised platform, providing an accurate, up-to-date view of the resource.
This solution makes it possible to optimise day-to-day water management and anticipate both drought episodes and water saturation, thanks to the history of variations.
It is intended for farmers, communities, researchers, and natural risk management services, who use it to better plan uses, strengthen resilience to climate change, and monitor sensitive areas.

About the founder

With degrees in renewable energy from HES-SO and in sustainable energy systems engineering from EPFL, I have developed expertise at the interface between energy production, system optimisation, and the energy transition. I support public and private stakeholders in the planning, modelling, and implementation of Net Zero strategies.
Trilingual (French, German, English), I take part in Swiss and European programmes focused on reducing carbon emissions and climate resilience in mountain regions.
On a more personal note, I teach my children to pick up litter and throw it in the bin, whether they are responsible for it or not. For me, it is a gesture of collective duty, and I would like this attitude to be more strongly integrated into teaching at school.
